Honey Chilli Potato recipe is one of the most famous Chinese recipes which are popular in India. Without chilli potato or honey chilli potato you can't think of snacks in a North Indian function or wedding. Learn how to cook crispy Honey Chilli Potato with this recipe.   • Potato – 3 medium size

  • Capsicum – 2 medium size

  • Onion- 1 medium size

  • Garlic- 8-10 buds

  • Corn Four – 1 bowl

  • All purpose flour (maida)- 1 bowl

  • Sesame seeds – 2 tea spoon

  • Tomato sauce - 2 tea spoon

  • Soya sauce – 1 tea spoon

  • Chilli sauce – 1 teaspoon

  • Vinegar- 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger garlic paste – 1.5 teaspoon

  • Honey- 2 tea spoon

  • Red Chilli powder (deggi mirch) – 1 tea spoon

  • Salt- 1 tea spoon

  1. Cut down potatoes and capsicum in long pieces.

  2. Onion should be cut down in big pieces and grate garlic buds.

  3. Sesame seeds should be roasted before use in recipe.
Steps of Honey Chilli Potato Recipe


  1. Start by taking a deep pan and put water in it, with that add some salt to it (1/4 tea spoon).
    Now boil potatoes in that water for 3 minutes.

  2. After potatoes get boiled, rinse it with cold running water, like this we get rid of most of the potato starch.

  3. Now we will put half of all purpose flour (maida) and corn flour in a big bowl. Add some salt to it again around ¼ tea spoon and some refined around 2 tea spoon. Mix them all together.

  4. Now mix potatoes in this mixture, and mix them together like all mixture get stick to potatoes.
    This is 1st important step when you stick dry material on potatoes.

  5. After applying dry material on potatoes make a paste of similar material. For this paste you have to take all those materials that we use to make dry material, just add water to that mixture and it should not be a thin paste, as we want to coat our potato sticks with this paste.

  6. Now coat paste on the potato sticks and apply material well on potatoes. Now after that keep oil in a pan or kadhai on flame, so that our oil gets ready for frying potato sticks.
    After oil get heat up, put potato sticks in it. Now another main point of this chilli potato comes here, we will only half fry this potato for first time. Fry them for 2 minutes only on medium flame or temperature. Transfer potatoes to a plate, and now you will notice many potato sticks stick together after frying.

  7. Now separate those potato sticks which get stick together and again fry them on low flame or temperature. This is again an important step of this honey chilli potato recipe. Fry potato sticks till they turn dark golden brown.

  8. So now when you are transferring potato sticks to a plate, you can hear a sound of "Tik Tik" and this is what we want "Crispy Potato Sticks" for our honey chilli potato.

  9. After making potato sticks, let's jump to make its sauce or masala. For its sauce firstly put refined oil into a pan or kadhai. After heating oil put garlic in it and fry them for 2 minutes.
    After our garlic start changing its color, put onion in pan and cook it for another 2 minutes. After that put capsicum and again stir all for 2-3 minutes.

  10. To make your sauce thick, make a liquid of corn flour. Take 2 tea spoon of corn flour and add water to it mix them well. Its flow should be like milk.

  11. Now put ginger garlic paste, soya sauce, tomato sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce, chilli flakes, chilli powder (deggi mirch) and honey into pan, and mix them all with onion and capsicum.

  12. Now add some sesame seeds to pan and with that add corn flour liquid which we prepared in last step. If you need add some water to it and cook everything properly for 2-3 minutes. Our sauce is ready now.

  13. In last add potato sticks to sauce mix it as each stick should be coated properly.
